The GBC Golf Academy is home to a growing Junior Program which features lesson options for young golfers just getting started in golf all the way up to high school players looking to attend University on golf scholarships. With programs for golfers aged 4 - 18, every junior golfer will find a program perfectly suited to his or her needs.

Our Spring Break Camps are run by our trained staff of CPGA Professionals and offer instruction on all parts of the game in a fun and safe environment. Students are grouped by age and skill level to ensure each golfer has fun and gets the most out of their time with us. Golfers will learn about all parts of the game including rules and etiquette. Golf clubs are provided if needed.

This program is for kids aged 4 - 6 and is an ideal way to introduce your child to the great game of golf. The program consists of four 45-minute sessions on the same day and time over a four week period. The classes are limited to six students per instructor to ensure plenty of personalized instruction.

Cost of the classes is $55 plus GST. Check with the academy staff at 474-3691 for the next scheduled series of classes.

The GBC Golf Academy is launching an exciting new Junior Academy program in 2008. The program will feature several skill levels and will provide our students with step by step instruction, much like a karate program with assessments and graduations from each level. Check back in February for complete program details.

Every spring the Academy offers three free clinics for the junior members of Olympic View. These clinics are a fun way for the juniors to get the season off to a good start. These clinics are generally scheduled in March and April. Contact the Academy at 250-474-3691 for 2007 dates.

The Elite Program is specifically designed for juniors who are actively competing in tournaments. The program features instruction on the swing and short game but also spends considerable time on fitness, mental game techniques and preparation needed to be ready for competition. This program is run by our Director of Instruction, John Randle, and is a must for junior golfers looking to earn a golf scholarship in the future. The GBC Golf Academy is home to the Vancouver Island Junior Skills Competition. Each year in late summer we host junior golfers from up and down the island in putting, chipping and driving competitions. Golfers aged 6 to 16 compete in various age groups and every body gets fabulous prizes and the thrill of a fun competition. Call 250.474.3673 ext 240 for details.
