During the early morning hours of March 18th a suspicious fire started outside the clubhouse at Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club. The fire spread into the clubhouse, causing extensive damage to the food & beverage operation, including the Greenside Banquet Room, kitchen and to a lesser extent the Lakeside Grill. Fortunately nobody was injured, and no damage was caused to the golf course or the golf shop.
After an extensive study, the team of investigators and engineers has now released their assessment. Due to the amount of structural damage the estimated timeline for complete restoration is five to six months, however, once the work has significantly progressed a more accurate completion time will be communicated. While the kitchen, restaurant and banquet facilities will remain closed during that time, we are looking at various temporary solutions to offer a food and beverage experience to our golf patrons.
“On behalf of the owners, staff and management at Mayfair Lakes, we appreciate the well wishes and support we have received over the last two weeks and are doing our best to manage this difficult situation,” says Mike Smedstad, General Manager.
